A brief history…This on site massage sequence is based on a traditional form of Japanese massage called ANMA which was introduced to Japan from China over 1500 years ago. Records of its existence go back over 3000 years B.C.
ANMA literally means `press and rub’ and over the years has influenced the birth of many other forms of massage including Shiatsu, Tuina, and Swedish massage.
What does the treatment entail?
The client is fully clothed for this therapy and sits face forward in a specially designed chair to receive treatment.
The Kata, or sequence of movements, is used by the therapist to apply pressure to the acupressure points in the back, neck, shoulders, arms, and head to improve the flow of energy throughout the body. The therapist uses their hands, fingers, thumbs, and elbows to apply pressure to over 60 pressure points, as well as specific trigger points.
The full treatment will take about 20 minutes to perform and leaves the client feeling relaxed, yet alert and revitalised.
